Trading Partner Finance (TPF) is a high performing Global team, enabling the supply chain to get products to patients and consumers on-time through strong partnership with the business and strategic BPOs. 

The activities of the Finance Business Partner (TPF) principally cover the procurement, supply, import and export of bulk drug substance and finished materials product for intercompany and 3rd party cross border transactions in GSK. 95% of GSK’s trade passes through our teams and we are responsible for operating in compliance with global trade, legal & fiscal requirements.

On a daily basis we are required to react rapidly to emerging issues that requires agile and prompt resolution to keep the supply chain moving. At the heart of the global supply chain within GSK we work closely with a wide number of departments supporting the delivery of medicine to our patients at the right place, on time and meeting a high-quality standard.

We engage with a wide range of finance and non-finance stakeholders across multiple geographies and functions to achieve our objectives right first time and to a high quality. 

This role is a new role. As we split the company the role will be key to successfully deliver 2 new organisations. Past this, your role will be to establish the Finance Business Partnering which is expected to evolve based on Business need.

Key Responsibilities

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career.  These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Deputise the FD when required including representation to the Boards
  • Act as trusted advisors to the business leaders; providing decision supports/ insights and mitigation options to achieve performance targets
  • Working closely with the TPF teams, all departments involved in the TPF activities as well as TPF Senior stakeholders to understand market insights and translate them into financial metrics & KPI’s
  • Being a true leader and challenging the numbers against other senior individuals.
  • Ownership of the full P&L for a business unit. Shaping the P&L by providing key analysis for resource allocation, pricing strategy & pricing when applicable
  • Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with all senior management and their teams – this includes Board members, SVP & VPs
  • Undertake the activities that needs to be performed in the UK such as PoA, contract signature, etc
  • Being on point to deliver the separation for TPF and support the new team in the Hub to develop capabilities and understanding of the TPF world and deliver the separation activities
  • Continue to support the TPF transformation including post stabilization and till the Hub team have acquired enough independence to operate
  • During that period the separation project individuals will report directly to you
  • Continue to refine and shape this new role
  • Ensure team and requests received are with adherence to regulations and processes as specified by MHRA, HM Revenue & Customs & SARBOX.
  • Oversight of Poznan team, including but not exclusively, Oversight of KPIs to track performance and develop continuous improvement initiatives - Responsible for providing the on-time (within 24hr) production of invoices and customs documents, customer services, credit note management - address concerns.
  • Point of escalation and liaison with senior stakeholders of Invoice and Data

What are we looking for?

  • University Graduate with Accounting qualification (ACA or equivalent)
  • Financial acumen and understanding, Financial analysis skill
  • A proven background in financial management experience
  • Strong team management experience: up to 15+ staff – this role could have direct reports or indirect reports
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels across the organization
  • Experience working with client groups with ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at various levels
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and across a matrix environment
  • Strong team building skills especially, deliver through others without a hierarchical link
  • Ability to establish a high level of credibility and forge strong working relationships with senior internal and third-party stakeholders

Preferred experience:

If you possess the following in addition to the above, it would be a plus: 

  • MBA/CIMA/ACA and/or advanced degree of equivalent
  • Significant experience working in a large global organization
  • Experience within the Healthcare/ Pharmaceutical Industry
  • Demonstrated risk management, process improvement, and project management skills
  • Experience with SAP and knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley preferable
