We are looking for a positive and people-focused Support Services Officer to join us on a full-time or part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and close-knit team where you’ll have real impact in helping people affected by blood cancer. 

You’ll provide high quality information and support to those affected by blood cancer via the phone, email, social media and our online forum and will contribute to the development of new, innovative peer volunteer support services. 

You will be emotionally resilient and understand the value that your role brings to the blood cancer community.  We all work evening and weekend shifts at set times across any given month, so this would suit our ideal Support Services Officer.

We are looking for a positive and people-focused Support Services Officer to provide high quality information and support to those affected by blood cancer via a range of different mediums including phone, email, social media, and our online forum across our 7-day-a-week service. 

Impeccable written and verbal communication skills are essential in this role as the Support Services Officer will be answering calls and writing emails to provide practical and emotional support to our service users, helping people to find the information and support that’s right for them, and empowering them to take the next step on their blood cancer pathway.   

The Support Services Officer will also be moderating our online community forum on a day-to-day basis, bringing together a supportive network of people affected by blood cancer who can share stories and support each other.  Keeping this community safe is really important here, so an understanding of online safety practices is key.  

This role will contribute to the development of new, innovative peer volunteer support services.  They will work with people affected by blood cancer to shape, influence and inform our peer volunteer community development as well as with other volunteering teams to deliver a great volunteer experience and contribute to our growing volunteer community.

Adaptability is vital in our organisation as the needs of our community are changeable. We’re looking for a Support Services Officer at Blood Cancer UK who enjoys working flexibly.

We all work evening and weekend shifts at set times across any given month, so this would suit our ideal Support Services Officer. 

This exciting role provides the front line of our Blood Cancer Support Service, putting people affected by blood cancer at the heart of everything we do.  For this reason, the Support Services Officer will need to be emotionally resilient and understand the value that the role brings to the blood cancer community.
