Finance director, FMCG, manufacturing, part time 

Our client in the events industry has 4 companies under its umbrella covering staffing, manufacturing and FMCG. They are seeking a Finance Director on a part time basis, 2.5-3 days a week to join their business. 

Reporting to the MD the role will manage all the financial affairs of the businesses as well as managing a small team. The role will prepare management accounts, attend Board Meetings and problem solve for all companies in the group. The role will oversee stock control, wastage and cashflow planning, as well as tax and working with the external accountants on a regular basis. The successful incumbent will review current financial systems with a to implementing a new one (they currently use Sage and Excel). They will mentor the team ensuring they are learning and developing their skills and knowledge. They will also be required to implement processes and systems across the wider group, ensuring that other teams are adhering to and following relevant procedures. 

Candidates will be qualified financial professionals with experience working at FD level. He/she will have experience from the manufacturing/food processing sector, or FMCG. He/she will have an understanding of stock control, value chains and distribution as well as an understanding of R&D. They will need to have worked in multiple currency (Euros and sterling), understand VAT and work with their accountants. He/she will be credible, personable and confident to deal with a multitude of tasks. A good understanding of tax is important. Previous experience of team management and mentoring others is preferred as well as the ability to solve problems effectively, communicating with the broader team around them.
