Here at Lloyds Banking Group, we put our customers at the heart of everything we do, and every colleague has an important part to play.

The Prudential Execution team sits within Capital Risk and Prudential Transformation and is responsible for the execution and delivery of Capital and Impairment metrics for the bank. Our remit involves carrying out advanced data analytics and modelling, to support the business' credit decisions across the credit life cycle. We support the bank's prudential requirements, such as capital and impairment allocation, capital optimisation and stress testing. We deliver and oversee internal credit policy and external regulatory reporting requirements, and we work with data that underpins vital business decisions. Together, we make it possible to add customer value, control risk, and help to build a safe, strong bank for our customers.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Impairment Senior Analyst, within Prudential Execution who will support the delivery of the key Impairment metrics under IFRS9 across the Retail and Wealth portfolios and support the wider Risk division.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who works well under pressure in a fast paced and ever-changing environment. The role involves executing the impairment numbers, delivering quality insight, and providing evidence to help demonstrate that LBG is a strong and stable bank, delivering on the strategy of helping Britain prosper.

What you'll be doing:

The role involves using tools such as SAS and Excel to manipulate and interrogate complex data whilst ensuring you work within a robust control environment. Your accountabilities will also include:

  • Carrying out advanced data analytics and modelling to support customer needs
  • Delivering insightful, high-quality analysis which explains monthly movements of the impairment across Retail and Wealth
  • Collaborating with the Modelling, Capital & Impairment and Finance teams to support the delivery of credible and robust impairment numbers
  • Understanding impairment modelling approaches to determine the drivers of changes in impairment metrics
  • Ensuring that regulatory data requests in the team are completed accurately
  • Deputising for more senior colleagues as required

We'll also be looking for you to identify and pursue opportunities to enhance insight tools and the knowledge and culture of the team. This may involve developing automated tools, coaching others, or sharing good practice across the team.

What we need from you:

Essential:

  • An expert at data extraction and analysis using a programming language
  • Proficient or higher in Excel
  • Either a graduate in a highly numerate subject (e.g. maths, statistics, physics, economics), or have previous relevant technical experience in a Credit Risk role
  • You're strongly passionate about data insight, problem solving and helping those around them.
  • Highly analytical in your approach, with great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at working at fast pace with the ability to adapt to changing priorities at pace, whether working collaboratively within a team or autonomously with little supervision
  • Well organised, with good time management and planning skills
  • Focussed on ensuring a robust control environment

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the Retail and Wealth portfolios, Impairment, and the framework that it operates in
  • Experience of simplification and providing a structured and uniform approach across different areas
  • Able to explain complex issues in simple terms, with well-developed written and verbal communication
  • Experience of credit risk issues and the upcoming regulatory changes across Capital and Impairment

What you'd get in return...

We'll give you a broad remuneration package which includes:

  • Basic salary (dependent upon location and experience)
  • A performance share bonus
  • A generous pension contribution
  • A flex cash pot you can adjust to suit your lifestyle
  • Private health cover
  • 30 days holiday plus bank holidays

We will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us to request accommodation.

Together we make it possible.
