Senior Research Scientist - Open to flexible working
This role delivers technical output that carries financial impact and that consistently delivers on the innovation business critical metrics/needs. You will balance multiple complex projects, initiatives and work streams with minimal guidance from manager and L4 technical mentors. Using commercial and consumer insight, acting as a source of technical and creative expertise to your cross functional project teams. You will recommend, design and influence the business to implement new product/ technical solutions for application in market. You will be consistently broadening your experience via project work in different subject areas, research programs and/or beverage categories.

- Recognized as an expert in scientific discipline across Diageo technical teams
- Demonstrated strength in at least on additional discipline and solid understanding of several
- Working knowledge product and process technologies related to project assignments
- Good working knowledge of all business aspects relating to project areas
- Has growing insight in commercial science, and uses this to invent new technical opportunities
- Has good links to external experts, and leverages their expertise to hone experimental designs and interpretation
- Leverages other internal scientists to define, improve and implement project work
- Actively participates on and influences cross-functional teams to deliver business results
- Presents project status to Technical and Innovation management, gaining support through clear communication of technical results and business impact.
Education - Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Food Science, or related subject area required. Additional certifications including Masters or PhD preferred. Engineering or Applied Science Degree or recognised technical equivalent
Experience - Requires 5+ years of relevant project and/or research experience (food or beverage) including doctoral or post-doctoral research. Experienced in leading project teams; consistent track record of handling technical projects through to execution.
