Team Leader

Salary: £33,287 per annum

Location: Taunton, Somerset

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Part time, Full-time, Flexible working

We are recruiting for Team Leaders for our Operations and Production business areas.

Team Leader roles can be challenging yet hugely rewarding. We work in a fluid environment, where anticipating and responding to changing circumstances and requirements whilst keeping the team on track requires personal resilience and the ability to look outside of the immediate task.

Successful candidates will have the ability to engage with their team members, supporting them as individuals and progressing outputs and change activities in the team based on business priorities. Teams are made up of technical specialists with a varying range of skill levels and experiences, so the ability to support both the development of the team and development of individuals, tailoring your approach as appropriate, is essential.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing a team of approximately 10 to 12 staff
  • Planning and managing all work within the team, ensuring that weekly targets for cost, quality, quantity and timeliness are met
  • Identifying, generating and reporting relevant and timely management information to the Team/Group Manager
  • Maintaining daily communications with the team, using the most effective and inclusive methods available, in order to build/maintain high levels of engagement within the team
  • Supporting the Team Manager in engaging the team with business change activities, through transparent communication and providing staff with support through the change process as required
  • Working collaboratively with team members and production engineering to identify, plan and deliver continuous improvement activities
  • Representing the Team Manager as required

On taking up the post, successful candidates will be required to undertake and complete the Level 3 Team Leader Apprenticeship, if they haven’t already undertaken this, or a similar line management development programme.
