The role

This role involves management of the Housing Rents service including all systems, functions, and processes. You will be responsible for providing outstanding leadership to direct reports and team members to provide first-class rent management and financial inclusion services to Camden tenants. You will also work within the strategic service plan objectives, legal obligations, and budgetary/expenditure limits. In this role you will work closely with other teams across the as well as external agencies to provide high-quality innovative services.

You will oversee the day-to-day management of the Rent Support team and will take responsibility for reliable management information, this will include monthly management information, weekly/monthly forecasting, assistance in year-end preparation, liaising with external auditors, and control of all financial processes within the department.

You will maintain and develop systems to ensure our residents receive a value for money service. You will be responsible for annual rent and service charge administration, review and reconciliation processes as well as the organisational strategic lead in ensuring income is maximised.

You will also act as the lead contact for the District Management Committee (DMT) which includes preparing reports, managing budgets and attending meetings.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require a DBS.

About you

To be considered for this exciting opportunity it is essential that you are educated to a degree level and hold the relevant CCAB qualification or possess substantial equivalent experience including leading a rent/service charge team.

You will have proven experience leading the management and delivery of a comprehensive rent collection and maximisation service, ensuring value for money and that an excellent standard of customer care is maintained at all times.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to inform and develop new systems of working.

We are looking for a forward thinker who is self-managing and has the ability to troubleshoot to overcome obstacles. As the driver for shaping this function, you will be confident in relationship management which will allow you to build capabilities; enabling staff to perform to a high standard, working closely with colleagues to meet resident demands effectively.
