The role

Reporting to the Global Head of Employee Relations and Policy, this role is the key employee relations lead within our Great Britain region (including our London headquarters at 16 Great Marlborough Street), and also supports different business units across our global functions. Duties include:

  • Implement an employee relations strategy which supports a high performance culture, embraces change (including through corporate acquisitions or disposals), implements innovative employee relations policies and practices, and proactively resolves disputes or conflicts. This will require the individual to be close to the organisational dynamics and employee pulse, and shape plans accordingly.
  • Develop market leading HR policies, processes and templates, leveraging both internal and external best practice.
  • Be a trusted advisor to all levels of the business in providing experienced advice on employee relations, policy and compliance matters, including providing coaching and guidance to the broader Human Resources team.
  • Provide leadership in case management, including advising on and undertaking complex investigations or disciplinary processes, and supporting any employment related litigation.

About You

This role is critical to ensuring that we have a culture and values that fosters a positive employee relations environment within our Great Britain region. We are looking for a person who understands the impact that extraordinarily executed employee relations can have in an organisation, including on delivering employee satisfaction and high performance.  To support this, you will be responsible for the employees relations agenda, including strategy implementation and policy development, change management initiatives, case management, ER capability development, and employee consultation. You will do this in a way that demonstrates genuine care for our people, is committed to helping build an innovative and best in class employee relations function, and role models integrity.

Ideal experience/capabilities:

  • In depth knowledge and application of UK Employment Law and practices.
  • Extensive experience and proven expertise delivering effective employee relations and employment strategy, solutions and advice.
  • Demonstrated experience of leading change.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills with an ability to influence and form trusted relationships with senior leaders, managers and employees at all levels, and employee representatives.
  • A resilient and optimistic approach, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing a variety of priorities and stakeholder groups.
