Digital Innovation Manager Great Britain & Ireland, Open to flexibility

Job Description

In this role you will be a key asset in assuring that Diageo stays at the forefront off all things digital across Great Britain and Ireland. You will do so by upskilling local teams, adapting global processes and technologies and driving the in-market test & learn agenda across brand, customer, shopper and experiential activations.

The Digital Innovation Manager will work across our iconic portfolio of brands including global giants like Guinness, Hop House 13, Gordon's, Johnnie Walker, Zacapa, Tanqueray, Smirnoff and Captain Morgan as well as reserve brands like Ciroc, Bulleit and Don Julio. The role is part of the Marketing & Innovation function and will report directly into the Head of Technology & Innovation.

Key responsibility:

  • Sourcing and identifying technology, suppliers and partnerships that deliver growth and efficiency at scale – especially in marketing technology areas including digital media, social, search, e-commerce, mixed reality and CRM
  • Adapting and embedding best practices, technologies and tools from other markets across media, experiences and trade activations
  • Supporting the trader teams through digital training, tools and advice across on-trade, off-trade and e-commerce
  • Identifying key digital opportunities in market and drive growth by trialing and scaling solutions (e.g. new suppliers, partners, processes, tools etc.

Top Accountabilities

  • Working with countries to execute Digital Partnerships and activities that deliver brand building and commercial returns
  • Identifying digital gaps or opportunities: Working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. Digital Commerce team) and external partners (e.g. Media agency) to trial and scale solutions
  • Upskilling & supporting internal teams: Running technology & innovation workshops and support clinics with key functions
  • Executing trial pilots and creating test & learn ambition with key external partners such as agencies, media owners or trade customers
  • Supporting trade teams through tools, consultation and support in digital aspects of customer relations


  • Several years of professional experience in digital focused environment
  • Strong commercial understanding and past experience in campaign analysis and/or building business cases
  • Good knowledge of Marketing & Advertising Tech as well as the local start-up ecosystem
  • Being a “creative technologist” who applies a consumer first approach to developing technology use cases that fix problems, add utility or create amazing experiences
  • Champion of lean and agile methodologies, focused on getting innovation into market rather than writing PowerPoint decks about them
  • Digital native & high proficiency in the use of presentation and collaboration tools
  • Fluency in English
