Complaints Executives x 2 fixed term contracts up to 12 months, open to flexible working

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) is the independent, self-regulatory body for advertising in the UK and works to ensure that ads are legal, decent, honest and truthful. Our work includes acting on and investigating complaints as well as proactively monitoring and taking action against misleading, harmful or offensive ads.

We are seeking applications from enthusiastic candidates, who are looking for a challenge and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.  You will deal with complaints about TV, radio, print, poster and online ads, making high quality and consistent initial assessments against the Advertising Codes.  The job involves excellent communication skills, resolving some cases by negotiation with the advertiser and recommending others for full investigation. The issues you will encounter will include ‘hot topics’ such as gambling, alcohol, the depiction of women, and advertising to children. You will play a part in ensuring that advertising standards are maintained and that ads don’t cause harm, offend or mislead those who see them.

To be successful in this role you will be able to use initiative and analyse a range of information to make defensible decisions. In a community where sharing knowledge and ideas is valued, you will demonstrate your ability to learn quickly, work autonomously and find creative solutions to work related challenges. You must have an ability to collaborate effectively and develop strong relationships with colleagues and customers alike. An interest in providing good customer service and maintaining high quality standards is essential.  

We operate a hybrid working model and office attendance is required 40% of your contracted hours.  Our normal working hours are 35 hours per week however we support flexible working, particularly as we move out of the pandemic, and are very happy to talk to you before you apply about how we could meet your needs or to answer any other questions you may have.
