To support this exciting strategic initiative, this is your opportunity to join Deloitte Digital Financial Advisory’s Ventures Engineering team based in London. Our multidisciplinary engineering team works closely with the Ventures team and tackles challenges at their core. From product to full stack developers and data scientists, these venture builders all share a passion for innovative and emerging digital solutions. Working in collaboration with product and design teams, they use the latest cutting-edge and custom technologies to solve our clients’ most complex and immediate issues and launch breakthrough digital assets that disrupt markets and generate untold value for Deloitte and its stakeholders.

By delivering and propagating new tech-enabled solutions, we advocate change, promoting the innovation “imperative” across Deloitte and to our firm’s clients.

As a Research and Development Engineer / Full Stack Software Engineer, you will:

  • Provide expert knowledge to stakeholders through conducting detailed technical discovery and delivery of Proof of Concepts (POCs)
  • Be involved with the design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of solutions
  • Determine the operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
  • Support the R&D programme by evaluating new technologies and identifying opportunities to apply value and greater efficiency across the Service lines
  • Assist building and strengthen our capability for Incubation and Acceleration of new opportunities to commercial scale
  • Be able to work in an Agile (SCRUM) environment
  • Have an understanding and involvement in the complete development lifecycle for products and applications
  • Be curious and want to develop your knowledge of current and future technologies and how they can be leveraged at Deloitte
  • Liaise closely with our Deloitte Cloud team to ensure our platforms align with company and global standards

Location: London with some travel to St Albans office

Your professional experience

Essential:

  • Proficient in .NET (C#) with a good knowledge of its ecosystems
  • Restful Services
  • Exposure to Cloud services such as AWS - Amazon Web Services (preferred) or Azure
  • JavaScript / TypeScript
  • Proficient understanding of GIT
  • Database design and development (SQL & NoSQL)

Desirable:

  • AWS (Practitioner) inc exposure to Services
  • Azure (Fundamentals) inc exposure to Service
  • SOA, Serverless and Microservice development
  • Data Science experience
  • Experience working with R&D or Innovation teams
  • Experience working with any emerging technologies like Serverless computing, Blockchain, AI, SSI/DiD
  • Experience using project management and source control systems (e.g. Confluence / JIRA / GIT preferred)
  • Agile framework (SCRUM preferred)
  • Experience in Angular 2+ or another similar framework
  • .Net Core
  • CSS / SCSS
  • Experience in any of the following:  Java / Python / Php
  • Relevant postgraduate or professional qualifications
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery Tools (e.g. TeamCity/Bamboo/Jenkins)
  • Understanding of the financial services industry
  • Exposure to reporting and data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI, Microsoft SSRS, Tableau, Qlikview, D3)

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints.
