The Role

Location: 5 Pancras Square, London N1C 4AG

Salary: £44,612 - £51,751

Contract Type: Permanent, Full time, 36 hours per week

We’re seeking a knowledgeable Valuer to provide an effective and efficient estate management service to the Council’s Commercial Property portfolio.  You will proactively identify opportunities to increase rental income and increase commercial fixed property asset values, whilst regularly undertaking valuations and negotiations relating to property matters. 

You will act as an expert advisor, making informed recommendations and reaching solutions which benefit the Council and comply with its corporate priorities. You’ll take responsibility for capital expenditure on planned maintenance projects, as well as committing the Council to formal commercial property contracts. Alongside this, you will effectively procure, manage, monitor and review any valuation services and contribute towards the generation of commercial rental income of approximately £15m per annum.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have professional membership of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or equivalent, along with extensive knowledge and experience of commercial property management and Landlord and tenant negotiations.

You will demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and accurate advice on all aspects of valuation practice and procedures. You will also confidently negotiate and influence key internal and external stakeholders, whilst being able to work collaboratively within a team environment. 

You will have expert knowledge of property law including Landlord and Tenant and good knowledge of best practice in valuations techniques. The ability to plan and execute complex tasks efficiently and to work under pressure to meet deadlines is essential to the role.
