Risk Analyst - Payments, Open to flexibility

You might not know that Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) is the UK's leading digital bank and its biggest mobile bank - with over 13 million active online customers.

And with over 30m customers we're looking to harness the data we hold to ensure we become the best Bank for customers through our products and services.

We're now embarking on a three year, £3bn, transformation programme - putting unprecedented levels of investment into our platforms, people and data capabilities to build the bank of the future.
Could you have a key role to play in it?

We are the UK's leading provider of current accounts, savings, personal loans, credit cards and mortgages. All of which means over 40% of the nation's domestic payments pass through our systems. We process tens of billions in value every day and our Payments, Fraud and Financial Crime (PFFC) applications teams are at the heart of it all; guarding our service we have a Monitoring and Incident Management Bridge consisting of 4 teams covering 12 hour shift patterns, ensuring a 24/7 capability, 365 days of the year.

Here's where you'll make a difference:

As a member of the PFFC Service Team and reporting into the Operational Risk and Compliance Lead, you will play a key role in managing the operational risks associated with the IT applications that run payments processing and protect our customers. As an operational risk analyst you will become an expert in reviewing controls, assessing threats to our technologies, people and processes, escalating risks that fall outside of appetite, directing remediating activities and ensuring effective mitigating controls are embedded. You will help prepare for and represent the Business area at various Risk forums and committees, the aim of which is to provide robust governance and to challenge the management of operational threats, ensuring senior stakeholders are informed and priorities are established.

You'll also:

  • Write and facilitate control assessments to identify operational threats across a large and complicated IT estate.
  • Analyse risks, identify trends, monitor performance and help identify remediation activities.
  • Prepare briefing packs to inform senior stakeholders across the business area, helping them to understand the threat profile and direct resources.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the business area to encourage a proactive risk culture amongst colleagues, to collate risk data and assist with the recording of risks.
  • Inform and educate colleagues on the Group Risk Management Policy and processes.
  • Conduct assurance reviews to assess adherence with policies, standards and processes across the Business area, identify weaknesses and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Engage with risk and audit experts across the Group to understand external concerns, coordinate internal responses and track management actions to a timely completion.

Do you have what we need?

You'll be service focused with operational risk management experience or will certainly have a keen interest in a risk management career having gained some theoretical knowledge. As a member of the risk team you'll have the opportunity to learn from others, receive guidance in applying risk techniques and have opportunities to evolve into a risk management expert. Whilst the role is IT focused a deep technical knowledge is not necessary, we have a business area full of IT engineers. We are after someone who has confidence to ask questions, has an analytical mind, can assimilate complexity and is able to communicate threats and impacts to business leaders. Above all, we are after someone with great integrity and with good stakeholder management skills.

You'll enjoy an energising environment where you'll see our real passion for diversity and equal opportunity. We want to ensure our Risk colleagues get genuine career opportunities as well as represent the communities we serve.
So what can we offer you in return? A package that includes:

  • Performance related bonus
  • A generous pension contribution
  • 28 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Private Health cover
  • A flexible benefit cash pot to craft around your lifestyle
  • Share schemes
  • Discounted products and discounted high street shopping

So if joining us at a critical and exciting time is of interest then we'd love to hear from you…
