Global Category Lead, Programmatic & Publishers Tech Stack Procurement, Open to flexibility

We have a new fantastic challenge within our procurement team to lead the creation, execution and management of comprehensive global sourcing strategies for Programmatic buying, including direct contracting with digital publishers.

This role will own the strategy to strengthen GSK relationship with programmatic platforms, publishers and technology suppliers. As such, you will be required to develop detailed commercial strategies which you will have to effectively communicate towards senior leadership to create alignment. From this you will then own the commercial relationship with the publishers and together with GSK media partner, track and optimise our media performance. You would be required to interact frequently at Chief Data Officer and Head of Marketing levels in GSK in both an advisory and challenging capacity. Internal and external engagements are highly strategic.

This is a great opportunity to be involved in a category which requires a high financial understanding in order to work with detailed complex commercial engagements. Additionally, the technology platforms that underpin programmatic buying require a strong understanding of IT and automated bidding marketplaces.

Your Key Duties in the Role

  • Manage £200m of Media and Content spend worldwide
  • Develop the global sourcing strategy for the programmatic buying of digital media and content
  • Manage negotiations with programmatic publishers (including Google and Facebook)
  • Ensure the delivery of media efficiency targets and ROI
  • Track in market budgets globally, ensuring they are delivering in line with digital ringfence targets
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements

Why You?

Basic qualifications:

  • Qualified to Degree level, ideally within a related subject for example IT, Marketing, Finance or Business Studies
  • Commercial experience within Digital Media and Programmatic, ideally in strategy, planning or buying functions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills including the ability to influence internal and external senior partners
  • Negotiation and contract management skills
  • Analytical skills to manage big data, generate insights and make decisions that brings cost and process efficiencies.
  • Ability to develop sound sourcing strategies and drive to execute short, medium and long term plans.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Further qualification within related subject
  • Media agency experience
  • Familiar with media buying and/or sales
  • Experience working with technology companies such as Google, Amazon and Facebook
