Context of this role

Leven Global Supply is one of Diageo's largest production sites where we bottle over 35 million cases of Brown or white spirits per annum which are then exported to over 240 international markets. Our site consists of four bottling halls and operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

This Mechanical Engineer will work in a live production environment and will predominantly one of our production lines and will operate on a four team structure, covering days, nights and occasional weekends.

Purpose and responsibilities of the role

As a member of the production engineering team, this individual will work closely with line teams and be supported by electrical and mechanical colleagues to improve line reliability, line performance and support asset performance and maintenance programmes. Your duties will include but are not limited to;

  • Ensuring day-to-day running of all services and equipment, clearly communicating process and plant status to the other team members and shifts. Promptly and appropriately responding to plant emergency and breakdown situations.
  • Maintenance and repair of plant to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiencies and ensure compliance with all H&S and revenue and customs legislation including risk-assessing changes to the plant and process.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
  • Being proactive in the development of effective working practices to optimise people and costs.
  • Fully comply with all legal and statutory Diageo requirements and risk management standards.

To be considered for this role, you will be/have

  • A qualified Mechanical Engineer, ideally with an HNC level qualification
  • A proactive communicator who is comfortable in identifying and communicating opportunities to continually improve processes and the business
  • Enthusiasm in dealing with process change

  • A focused problem solver
