National Standard Coordinator, Part time  24 hours/wk

Reporting to:

Be Confident Head of Training and Cycle Confident Training Manager

Purpose:

To prepare Cycle Confident and BikeRight! for the implementation of the revised National Standard and process the application for the Be Confident Group to become an Approved Delivery Centre (ADC) of the revised National Standard for training NSIs.

Liaising with:

  • Head of Training - Be Confident Group
  • Training Manager - Cycle Confident
  • Training Manager - BikeRight!
  • The Bikeability Trust
  • 1st4Sport
  • Customers

Responsibilities:

  • To lead the transition from the current National Standard to the revised National Standard
  • To be the main point of contact for 1st4Sport and the Bikeability Trust
  • Work with the Bikeability Trust to understand requirements of rolling out the revised National Standard
  • To oversee the development of the revised Be Confident Group NSI course
  • To oversee the approval of sites in the north of England and London as ADCs
  • To organise courses that will prepare current NSIs and NSITs for conversion to new competencies required under the revised National Standard
  • Communicate with Local Authorities, Councils and instructors about the revised National Standard
  • Ensure all paperwork relating to the process is completed within agreed timescales
  • Review PCA procedure for revised National Standard

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Essential

  • Excellent verbal and written communication including being able to convey information to a varied audience in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong numeracy skills and financial awareness
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders, internal staff, instructors, school contacts and suppliers
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively against time constraints
  • Work well without close supervision; will use own initiative and take appropriate decisions
  • Attention to detail
  • Resilient and resourceful
  • Punctual and diligent
  • Trustworthy with financial matters and confidential or sensitive information
  • High degree of IT literacy and confident in the use of standard office packages such as email, Word and Excel

Desirable

  • National Standard Instructor with experience of delivery
  • Quality management experience, preferably with knowledge of ISO 9001 guidelines
  • Leadership and delegation skills
  • Graduate level qualifications
  • Experience working with an Ofqual regulated Awards Organisation
  • Experience working in a customer-facing environment
  • Sales and relationship management experience
  • Regular cyclist

Position details:

  • Part-time position (24 hours/week)
  • Salary: £24,000 pro-rata
  • The post holder will be required to work from the office in London or Manchester
  • Post holder needs to occasionally be able to work flexible hours and attend meetings but the work is mainly normal office hours
