Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

Talented Communications Manager to join the Corporate affairs team of a successful automotive company based in Oxford.  The role includes internal communications, PR, Social Media and website management.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Corporate Affairs.  The successful candidate will take ownership of coordinating day to day communications of activity.

The role requires some travel.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer and have project management skills to manage the communication process.  They will have the ability to deliver advice and guidance as well as producing high quality communication materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct responsibility for the cost-effective management of a variety of communication channels and techniques
  • Develop strategic communications for planning for promotion and dissemination of corporate and marketing content
  • Managing a clear flow of internal communication (both upward and downward) and strong communication links with other parts of the group
  • Ensuring the standards are met for customer service, quality of information, brand management and reputation
  • Active involvement in PR events, maximising opportunities for communication activity
  • Planning and implementing crisis communications inline with the company procedure
  • Developing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of, and strong links with key media outlets
  • Dealing confidently with media enquiries, preparing responses, statements, articles and briefings
  • An element of the role will involve utilizing the company’s web presences by developing ideas and writing content, measuring impact, and improving, delivery of high value information in various forms
  • Plan and implement social media campaigns optimising the use of content across social media channels.  This will include content curation
  • In addition the postholder will support and deputise for the Director of Corporate Affairs as required
  • The post holder will work across all levels and will provide 24 hour on call service for handling all media enquiries.  The postholder will also be part of the company’s Major Incident Response Team and be available for media management in the case of a major incident

  • Knowledge of social media and analytics softwear (Hootsuite, Google Analytics etc.)
  • UK driving License is essential
