The Data team within Group Design & Data, Group Transformation is critical to the success of this by keeping data at the centre of the solutions we deliver.

We are looking for a DDO Data Quality (DQ) & Metadata Manager with the right attitude and experience; whether your experience is in a large Corporation or within a Data Consultancy/Specialist Data agency.

As the DDO DQ & Metadata Manager you will be part of a small team dedicated to supporting the DDO Head of Function (HoF) and Lead with accountabilities for Data Management across Group Transformation, covering Data Governance, Data Quality and Metadata.

The successful individual will form part of the DDO team and will ensure effective rules and controls are in place around our data to protect customers, colleagues and shareholders. You will provide visible championship and challenge to Data Owners, regularly reviewing data standards and supporting the resolution conflicts.

Key accountabilities and capabilities of this role will include:

  • Support the development and implementation of processes across the division to deliver and maintain data quality use the Groups Strategic Data Quality Tool whilst maintaining metadata in the single Group metadata repository
  • Deliver and support high quality governance processes to ensure the quality and usefulness of metadata
  • Be part of the escalation route for data quality issues for the Division
  • Support application owners as business and implementation SME on DQ and metadata tools, providing training and technical support where required
  • Provide data quality and metadata service and consultancy to projects and business areas across Group Transformation
  • Experience of metadata management at both a practical and policy level
  • Ensure data quality and metadata across the division meets regulatory requirements, as defined within Group Policy
  • Act as a source of data expertise to provide advice and guidance to influence business decisions and contribute to the development of functional policy
  • Build and maintain a cross functional internal network to optimise business results
  • Deliver agreed change programmes to achieve continuous improvement
  • Review and evaluate all decisions to identify and ensure all potential risks (financial, people, regulatory & operational) are managed and mitigated effectively
  • Ensure the data management position is communicated including breaches in Policy or deviation from standards
  • Support the management of DDO related risk and associated action plans and escalate these as necessary
  • Engage with Value streams and other delivery vehicles to secure necessary funding and resources to document DQ and metadata with their plans
  • Communicate the benefits of data management specifically DQ & metadata across the division. Champion the need for it and ensure those in data related roles know what they need to do
  • Report back on divisional progress via dashboards and other processes
  • Understand and evaluate data related concepts and decisions
  • Deep understanding of how data is used in the business and what are the most critical types of data
  • Be part of a strong performing team who adopt and excel using agile delivery methodology.
