We are looking for a qualified and experienced Accountant to work as Senior Accountant for a small accountancy practice based in Camden, London to start as soon as possible.

The role is a for an initial 3-month contract to cover a period of staff leave but with the potential to extend to a permanent role.

We are looking for someone to work 20-25 hours over the week and we can discuss with you when the hours are worked. The role can be a mix of office and homeworking after an initial handover period.

Responsibilities Include:

•Assist Partner in day-to-day clients’ care: reacting to emails enquires, answering questions, research into issues submitted by clients, support clients bookkeeping questions, etc.
•Supervise and support other members of staff and their work.
•Prepare or review sole trader, property, partnership accounts, companies accounts, prepare CT600 and corporation tax calculations, some knowledge of personal tax.
•Review VAT returns and submit for clients
•Some administrative work to ensure the smooth running of a small practice.

You will:

•Have direct contact with clients and be responsible for collecting information from them
•Deal with correspondence and client enquires
•Be responsible for spotting potential problems and opportunities, getting specialist advice and tax planning
•Deal directly with HMRC when required.

We use the following software to assist with our work. Knowledge of these is not essential:

•Accounting –VT+ extensively, Xero, Sage, free Agent and QuickBooks and Excel,  
•Tax and payroll - KeyTime

Requirements:

•You will be fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CA and a member of a professional body.
•You will have up to date technical knowledge
•You will be aware of compliance standards and have at least 5 years’ experience within a small practice.
•Be capable of taking responsibility for billing tax return fees, keeping accurate records, monitoring own time incurred, completing time sheets accurately, on a timely basis and undertake analysis as directed
•You will be able to build good rapport with clients, provide excellent client care
•Attention to detail above all.
