We're on the mission to build the bank of the future, and we need your help do it. Continuing our extensive transformation programme, we're redefining what a bank is from the inside out. Our technology, our culture, and our mind-set are changing to craft a true engineering-led organisation.

In this role, you'll primarily provide analytical support to a team focussed on delivery of automation for Identity and authentication/authorisation services to LBG. You'll assist in creating and setting the direction and approach for Automated Testing to support the ongoing development of products and projects. You'll be working alongside developers to influence the design of testable code and platform engineers to integrate your tests into Continuous Delivery pipelines. The choice of tools, technologies and approaches will be wide and varied and you'll have a strong influence over quality practices within the project.

The role requires a rigid focus on delivery of agreed milestones as development is performed in line with a strictly controlled release schedule. These releases contain a mixture of product fixes, patches and new or revised functionality delivered as part of the business project portfolio.

Your accountabilities will include:

  • Analysing test requirements, designing, and producing re-usable test scripts; specifying requirements for environments, data and test tools required.

  • Taking responsibility to write and execute test plans in support of deployments.

  • Overcoming development obstacles to deliver quality testing on time.

  • Reviewing test artefacts produced by peers.

  • Reviewing test results and modifying the test suite, as necessary.

  • Defining and creating test cases from the analysis of non-functional specifications.

  • Designing and implementing functional and performance test scripts, and security tests.

  • Analysing requirements for test automation, designing, and implementing the technical solution regardless of approach.

  • Reviewing and assuring the scope and execution of Unit Tests and Integration Tests performed by Software Engineers.

  • Undertake exploratory testing where scripted testing is inappropriate or unnecessary.

  • Undertake manual testing where required.

  • Working collaboratively with Engineers and Developers to achieve success across the team, supporting technical solutioning, attending project meetings, providing quotes and estimates and providing a point of contact for business projects, as required.

About you;

  • Demonstrable experience in defining clear and concise functional and non-functional requirements, writing automated test scripts using automated testing tools.

  • Demonstrable experience writing & executing test plans.

  • experience in the delivery of projects, through all phases of the Project Lifecycle; from Requirements Capture, through Functional and Technical Design, Development, Testing, Implementation and Support.

  • proven ability for working closely with Analysts and other Developers on both a technical and non-technical basis, to have the ability to communicate technically with those who need technical explanations, but also to be able to explain clearly and concisely in a non-technical way.

Experience of working an Identity function would be beneficial but not essential.

What would you get in return?

You'd get a benefits package that includes;

  • A performance related discretionary bonus

  • Generous pension contribution

  • 28 days leave plus bank holidays

  • A flexible cash pot (4% of base salary) to spend on benefits

  • Private health cover

  • Wider corporate benefits and perks

As a colleague of the Group, we'll provide you with continuous training and development opportunities and regular career development conversations to help you fulfil your career potential, whatever your aspirations may be. As a new colleague, you'll join us on our journey to build a 21st century bank that reflects modern Britain and craft an inclusive culture where all colleagues feel encouraged and valued.

We're committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve, and to building an inclusive environment where all our colleagues can be themselves and succeed on merit.
