Carers UK is looking for a highly motivated and creative media professional to job share with our current part-time Media and Case Studies Manager to co-lead the organisation’s media activity. This is a dynamic role which highlights the experiences and challenges of unpaid carers, especially in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, helping to bring about the change unpaid carers need. This role is hybrid with the flexibility to work from home or our London office. 

The Media and Case Study Manager job share will be responsible for co-devising, delivering, and supervising Carers UK’s media activity maintaining a high profile for the organisation’s campaigns, research and other key activities. You will help maximise Carers UK’s brand awareness liaising with departments and colleagues across the organisation. You will work to increase the number and breadth of carers able to tell their story in the media.

About you

You will be a highly motivated individual who can thrive in a high-pressured environment. You will be able to handle multiple competing priorities and quickly familiarise yourself with new topics, communicating them clearly and engagingly to our target audiences. You will have proven experience of delivering successful national and regional media strategies. You’ll have great writing skills, strong planning skills and be able to build great relationships supporting carers to tell their stories. You will be able to work in close collaborative partnership with the job-share postholder.

About the role 

As Media and Case Studies Manager, by leading our media and PR work, you will have a pivotal role in maintaining and raising the profile of Carers UK, our services supporting carers, and our research and campaigns. Operating across the organisation you’ll play a key role in projects involving multiple partners and corporate sponsors delivering media coverage on a range of platforms against a range of organisational priorities and objectives. You would be increasing brand awareness and securing high levels of media coverage. You will also be responsible for supporting and developing case studies to ensure that the voice of carers is heard in the media. This role will supervise the day to day work of the Media and Campaigns Assistant.
