Our client is a niche consultancy based in London City. They are looking for a Consultant to join as an Associate to work with the small team with new and existing clients. The role will be project based and is likely to be for a few days a month, although may vary.
The successful applicant will be undertaking corporate governance reviews, predominantly reviews of internal audit functions. The role will manage the client's needs from start to finish, planning and managing the project scope and timing. This will include conducting online surveys, interviewing stakeholders, analysing findings and drafting reports ensuring quality at all times. Reports will be presented back to clients in formal board meetings. The role will involve maintaining a network of clients and contacts, preparing proposals and attending pitches, managing budgets and monitoring invoicing. You may also be involved in training other consultants and associates as the business grows.
The successful candidate will be a Chartered Accountant, ideally with experience of internal audit. He/she will have a minimum of 7+ years’ experience in a client-facing role and be used to working with senior executives. All round business knowledge is essential and the ability to discuss current business themes. He/she will have had experience conducting interviews at senior level as well as drafting readable reports. A team player who knows how to manage a project and enjoys the responsibility for delivering excellent services to the client. He/she will communicate well – both orally and on paper and be hungry to develop their knowledge, skills and network. Being a good listener and being credible with senior level directors are paramount. Knowledge of corporate governance issues would be useful.
Our client will consider candidates with backgrounds in professional or financial services including accountancy, consulting firms, investment management or banking. The successful applicant will have client-facing skills and experience of working at board level, possibly as a Company Secretaries or non-executive director.
