To be eligible for the programme you will:

  • have taken a career break of two or more years
  • have five or more years’ experience within professional services or a relevant industry/sector, including a minimum of two years in a similar position to the role you wish to apply for
  • be available to work from 21 January 2019 for a period of 25 weeks.

Your role

This is your opportunity to join Deloitte's Indirect Tax team as part of the Return to Work programme. 

Our Indirect Tax practice is one of the largest in the world and has bold growth plans over the coming years. VAT (and other indirect taxes, for example, environmental taxes) can make a significant impact on a business’s bottom line and affects all businesses across all industries. In addition, the evolving VAT legislation and numerous UK and European cases continue to develop and often change how we interpret the VAT rules. Your work, your choice

Location: You will be based in a Deloitte office, however travel will be required for client based projects. Whilst most clients are London based, some time will be spent off-site with regional and international clients.

Work pattern: Fixed-term part-time: the programme runs for 25 weeks from 21 January 2019; participants will typically work 80% (or 4 days a week), although we will always consider a full-time, 5-day contract if you prefer.

Your professional experience

  • Prior VAT experience gained within a professional services environment or HMRC
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
  • ACA/CTA qualification or equivalent
  • Excellent client facing, relationship building and business development skills
  • An ability to analyse information, identify issues and prioritise them.
