Job Purpose:

As the newly appointed Director of Commercial for the digital innovation hub, you will be responsible for the creation and management of a cross functional organisation support and deliver a strategic pipeline of digital healthcare innovation.

As well as day to day operational management, you will be accountable for partnering across all GSK Consumer Healthcare categories to ensure the pipeline is aligned with GSK strategy and delivers products of high and sustainable value to the market place. This includes both pioneering new, creative approaches to develop intuitive digital diagnostics and therapeutics (connected health), as well as evaluating digital devices/sensors/apps either marketed or in various stages of development, and influencing the organisation to cease investment where value is not proven.

You will be a key contributor to the Consumer digital innovation strategy to deliver digital innovation including: devices, wearables, platforms, business models and associated software.

Specifically, as the Director of Commercial you will lead overall operational management of the hub, managing a team of five commercial leads, and liaising with matrixed organisation (R&D, Tech and Categories) to ensure GSK investment delivers high value products to market. The role will also be responsible for selecting, sourcing and managing 3rd party commercial relationships for the delivery of Digital Innovation Hub objectives.

You will be a key member of the Digital Innovation (DI) Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:

As the successful applicant you will manage a significant portfolio of digital health opportunities. In addition, you will set the strategy and manage a team of ~16 direct & indirect cross-functional reports to provide operational oversight to consumer healthcare digital innovation projects in close partnerships with the category project teams/management as well as establish new innovation platform areas.

As the successful applicant, you will establish and maintain world-leading, cross-functional capabilities in a newly established Digital Innovation Hub and enable rapid prototyping capabilities for early stage user testing. In addition, you will oversee a portfolio of 3rd party selection for delivery of digital innovation projects.

This role involves the management of internal / external partners to step-change GSK CH ability to drive big-bet, digital breakthrough global innovation across all categories. You will set a community of practice for category strategy engagement, identifying trade-offs, and implementing risk mitigation strategies and responsible for the development of best practices insights for digital innovation.

In this role, you will communicate and share best practice and ways of working from DIH insights across the CH business and ensure robust due diligence is conducted in evaluating innovation opportunities.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills given large portfolio impact and multiple 1:1 interactions with senior internal / external stakeholders
