The Office of the Chief Rabbi (OCR) is looking to recruit an organised and effective Operations Administrator to join this fast-paced, high profile public office. This role will provide integral support in the areas of operations and finances. You must be an efficient multi-tasker and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

The role includes:


  • Processing and ensuring swift payment of invoices
  • Processing expenses and payments
  • Responsibility for administration of OCR bank accounts
  • Liaising with accounts department
  • Responsibility for collection of provincial community levy
  • Processing donations to the OCR
  • Providing administrative support for fundraising
  • Responsibility for administration of OCR-related Trusts
  • Providing finance and administrative support for OCR-run projects
  • Day-to-day management of the OCR database and supporting the OCR team in its use

General office

  • Ordering of stationery
  • Responsibility for leasing and maintenance of machinery
  • Responsibility for ordering furniture
  • Liaising with internal/external IT support
  • General assistance in the office

Person specification:

The role requires the following experience and ability:

  • Hold Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Experience of financial management
  • Strong level of proficiency in using Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to show initiative, be proactive and flexible
  • Identifies with the ethos and vision of the Office of the Chief Rabbi

This is a part-time, flexible position for 18 hours per week, reporting to the Director of Operations. Salary is £24-28k pro rata, depending on experience.
