We are looking for a Consultant to support our work with asset managers including private equity, hedge funds, real estate infrastructure and retail asset managers, as well as large or fast growth private companies and our wider FS client base including banks and insurance companies. This role is diverse and offers a wide range of tax consulting opportunities across the breadth of our client base within the remits of reward and incentivisation for highly paid senior management teams.
You will work within larger client service teams, managing a portfolio of high profile projects, developing your own client relationships and developing more junior team members, with the full support of more senior team members focused on your development and progression.

In this team, your role in the group would encompass some or all of the following:
Assisting clients with employment tax issues related to transactions including due diligence, structuring of UK and international incentive plans for the senior management teams of private equity portfolio companies and advising on the employment and personal tax aspects of company acquisitions, sales and flotations;
Advising on a broad array of issues relating to the advisor/manager of private equity, real estate, infrastructure or hedge funds ranging from structuring global carried interest and co-investment plans to restructuring the entire business;
The design and implementation of global and UK tax efficient, regulatory, compliant remuneration, ensuring that the plan designs are aligned to the wider business objectives of the organisation;
Providing bespoke tax planning advice around deferrals, long-term incentives and pensions;
Assisting clients with complex employment taxes enquiries and dealing with HMRC on their behalf;
Researching a wide range of tax issues;
Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.

Your professional experience
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following skills and experience:
Full appreciation of current tax legislation, preferably qualified ACA or CTA, or equivalent qualification or experience;
Strong technical ability surrounding the legislation and case law;
Numerate with keen attention to detail;
Appetite for learning and developing on the job;
Willingness to learn and deal with new ideas and technical areas;
Some experience of employment tax issues relating to employee share plans or fund management incentives is preferred but not essential.
Ability to build strong relationships;
Strong commercial awareness;
Ability to communicate complex ideas, both written and oral, in a pragmatic and articulate way;
Ability to produce high quality, technically accurate, well-written work;
Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment rapidly and to respond to clients appropriately in this context.
Ability to plan and prioritise workload, meet deadlines and work well under pressure;
Ability to take ownership and use initiative to resolve problems;
Ability to exercise appropriate level of judgement.
Excellent team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels;
Some experience of delegation is preferred but not essential.
