New Homes Development Project Manager, Open to flexible working

Islington Council is committed to making Islington a fairer place to live and has made access to decent, affordable housing one of its top priorities. We have an ambitious new homes programme aimed at increasing the supply of good quality affordable homes, particularly new social rented homes for families.

But, we are delivering a major new homes programme in a national context of major cuts to public spending, including housing investment, welfare and housing reform which present significant challenges to delivering our local priorities.

To help us raise our game and meet our ambitions we are seeking a suitably experienced candidate to join our New Homes Development Service which is responsible for increasing the supply of new affordable homes through:

  • delivery of council new build and regeneration projects and,
  • working in partnership to enable the provision of affordable homes by Registered Providers, in accordance with the various local, regional and national policy and investment frameworks.

New Homes Development Project Manager

To succeed in this role you will need to demonstrate experience of working in a housing development or related field and an understanding of housing and regeneration issues in a diverse, inner city environment.

For the project management role you will have the skills and experience to effectively lead estate regeneration and/or significant capital projects and programmes from inception to completion with limited supervision, delivering on time and within budget. You will also be able to work under pressure, manage often competing priorities and meet tight deadlines

You will need to demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build effective partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders including residents, elected members, Registered Providers, contractors and other external partners and agencies. You should also be comfortable working on your own as well as part of a team.

If you think that you can demonstrate the skills, experience and enthusiasm we are looking for to take on this exciting new opportunity then we look forward to hearing from you.
