Senior Analyst - Trade Services, Open to flexibility

Commercial Banking (CB) Delivery provides end-to-end support to all businesses across the division. As CB's Chief Operating Officer, I lead teams dedicated to client service delivery, banking and trade delivery, markets and lending delivery, data services, operating strategy and overall business services for CB (see links to each Delivery team below). Our combined team of more than 3,000 colleagues work hard to enable and improve Commercial Banking to be the best bank for clients.

Trade Services is within Commercial Banking, Banking & Trade Delivery and is a client facing middle and back office function, whose core role is the provision of specialised advisory and operational support directly to clients who trade internationally across Community Banking and all Commercial Banking sectors who trade internationally including Global Corporates, Financial Institutions, Mid Markets and SME. International trading is facilitated through utilising Global Transaction Banking products including:-

  • Documentary Collections
  • Import & Export Credits
  • Guarantees and standby facilities.

Trade Services also provide finance through a variety of means including discounting, structure Trade Finance agreements and Bank to Bank financing arrangements on a bilateral and syndicate basis.

The business supports activity originated in the UK, Europe, North America and the Asia/Pacific region and operates between 8am and 6pm, and midnight to 8am specifically supporting LBG's Singapore office.

As a Senior Analyst you will support the delivery of a high quality, accurate and timely international trade service for Commercial clients who range from global commodity traders to local import/export businesses.

You will be providing an advisory service on the terms of the products and the operational mechanics relating to those products. Using your communication skills you will provide help desk capability for the trade online service. Accuracy is essential as you will be negotiating, issuing, setting up and managing new documentary credits and guarantees through their lifecycle, including management of claims and disputes in line with International Chamber of Commerce rules to protect the bank and client positions, as well as reviewing and accepting documentary collections.

As your knowledge and experience grows you will arrange the provision of financing for clients through discounting, structured Trade Finance products and other bespoke facilities, manage the payment and receipt of principle and interest and the associated reconciliation controls, manage the calculation, invoicing and collection of fees and associated reconciliation controls and ensure transactions comply with Anti Money Laundering policy through rigorous adherence to control procedures.

Right from the start, we'll give you full training and all the support you need with an Induction Course. This will be followed by a further 121 training, where you will be supported whilst you learn. During this time you will be given all the coaching and development you need to achieve your competency. We will help you to obtain a full understanding of our operational policies and procedures plus give you an awareness of regulatory practices and constraints. Previous experience of Trade Services would be a plus but not essential. .
