National Sales Manager, Scottish Widows Protect, Open to flexibility​

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Scottish Widows' Protection Distribution team, within the dynamic and fast-paced Insurance and Wealth Division of Lloyds Banking Group. This challenging role plays an integral part in the Division's strategy of 'protecting today, securing tomorrow' through the promotion of our Scottish Widows Protect (SWP) proposition, to help meet the protection needs of UK intermediary customers as we continue our drive to be the best Life and Pension company in the UK.

Reporting to the Head of Protection Distribution, the primary objective of the National Sales Manager (NSM)role, will be to deliver sufficient profile, knowledge and sales expertise both internally and externally (via their sales teams), such that, SWP can promote its proposition and achieve its sales objectives.

The NSM will lead the Telephony Account team across all regional accounts and will lead the development of a non-core strategy. They will also be accountable for ensuring that SWP develops robust and sustainable relationships with specified accounts to ensure new business targets are achieved, and they will be expected to work in consultation with all Regional Business Development Units, to ensure correct resource alignment with the best potential firms.

Additionally, the NSM will be accountable for liaising with Scottish Widows and LBG Mortgage Intermediary strategic account function to ensure coordinated and coherent development strategies.

Key accountabilities

  • To be considered an expert and advocate for the Individual Protection market both internally and externally
  • Leverage the expertise within SWP support functions to help build robust and sustainable relationships with National Accounts at HO level .
  • Ensure SWP can optimise its distribution potential through whole of market distribution channels and maximise our non core performance.
  • Analyse and use account specific management information to:
    • Segment firms within the accounts and work in consultation with RPMs to ensure sales resource aligned with best potential accounts
    • Monitor the quality of business submissions across the account and work with the commercial team to ensure profitability of account
    • Work with marketing team to ensure we can optimise our profile and distribution reach by utilising variety of communication media.

 

  • Deliver high impact presentations at National Conference / Regional seminars/workshops
  • To provide feedback to the Proposition Development Team to ensure SWPs proposition maintains a competitive edge and that the business produced is of adequate quality, profitability and persistency.
  • To take personal responsibility for self development, and ensure that all business activity complies with the specified risk and compliance procedures and practices (ensuring that you are operating within Lloyds Bank Group policies at all times)
