Security Innovation Senior Manager, Open to flexibility

At Lloyds Banking Group we're motivated by a clear purpose; to Help Britain Prosper. Across the Group, our colleagues are focused on making a difference to customers, business and communities.

The Chief Security Office (CSO) is a vital part of delivering the Group's vision of putting customers at the heart of everything we do, helping Britain prosper, and protecting the Group and customers from security threats.

We're responsible for defining and communicating Lloyds Banking Group's security strategy and providing proactive support and constructive challenge to business areas to ensure the delivery of an effective and compliant security risk management framework.

We're currently recruiting for a self-motivated and enthusiastic colleague to join a new and exciting team within the CSO. This is a phenomenal opportunity to shape and lead a new Innovation function that will proactively identify innovative security solutions and ways of working that will transform how we defend the bank against adversaries.

The role...

You'll lead a team of colleagues to derive new ways of examining and addressing the ever-changing security challenges faced by the bank.
Actively build and maintain diverse networks to collaborate with both internal teams and external sources to understand threat and opportunity trends, prioritise business problems, and pursue new technology offerings from start-ups and more established suppliers.

Champion Innovation objectives, and inspire stakeholders to embrace new approaches, mind-set changes, and support the progression of security solutions as technology and intellectual strategy evolves.

Facilitate the triage and prioritisation of new problems and opportunities as they arise. Drive business sponsored proof of concept (POC) initiatives, facilitating creative design approaches and handing over findings to business areas to take forward.

Address and resolve blockers the team encounters in pursuing innovative approaches and solutions, working with broader Innovation network to address common challenges.

You'll champion the CSO Innovation strategy, pursuing opportunities to perform proof of concept initiatives, inspiring a Test and Learn culture that aligns the CSO with the transformation strategy of the Bank, seeking to streamline the exploration of new technologies to support business goals.

About you...

  • You'll be recognised as an individual who is passionate about, and committed to the cultural change needed to transform individuals and teams to new ways of working that enable creativity and Innovation to thrive.
  • You have the ability to lead, empower and motivate a team to deliver on goals and objectives.
  • You'll have proven experience in understanding Security issues and the types of challenges that CSO teams face on a day to day basis. Your understanding of strategic thinking enables an intuitive response to prioritising issues and opportunities that will enable CSO to deliver on the strategy and Vision.
  • You'll have a broad technology background, enabling an appreciation of the challenges that disruptive new technologies will place on traditional Bank infrastructure and governance processes.
  • You have demonstrable experience of effective stakeholder management at all levels of the organisation and can constructively and successfully challenge blockers to Innovation and change.
  • You role model the Lloyds Banking Group values and behaviours and inspire the team and stakeholders to adopt.

Wider skills you could bring that would be really useful..

Ideally you'll have worked with start-up firms, understanding their different challenges from our traditional suppliers, and have experience of how to facilitate bringing new technologies into the Bank.

Preferably you'll have worked with Agile tools and techniques to facilitate a more flexible and responsive way of working to adapt to the ever-changing security ecosystem.

Lloyds Banking Group is committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve, and to building an inclusive environment where all our colleagues can be themselves and succeed on merit. We support the principles of agile working and are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We're an equal opportunity employer and deeply value diversity within our organisations.

Together we make it possible.

As well as a competitive salary, this role offers:

  • Car (or allowance)
  • Flex cash sum
  • 30 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
  • A total reward package that offers discounted lifestyle, financial and protection benefits you can tailor to suit your lifestyle.

So, if this sounds like a role that matters to you, get in touch.
