HR Communications Manager, Open to flexibility

An exciting opportunity in the internal engagement team to be part of GSK's global HR and culture communications activity.

With culture and trust firmly in the spotlight, this is a very exciting time at GSK. Our HR function, led by Claire Thomas, designs and delivers key culture programmes which put our IPT priorities and values and expectations at the heart of everything we do. The HR Communications team partners with HR to help bring these activities to life by telling a joined-up story about our culture and working at GSK.

The HR Communications Manager plays key role in this work.

You will be responsible for supporting/activating plans and campaigns that strengthen people's understanding of and commitment to building our culture. As part of the HR communications team, you'll get involved in key culture work including Modern Employer (Be You, Feel Good, Keep Growing), the Global Survey, development tools (One80, 360, HPT), HR to HR activities and more. You'll create compelling content for multiple audiences and channels that articulate the why, what and how in a clear and inspiring way. Excellent writing skills and a digital communications mindset are essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work as part of the HR Communications team and partner with HR stakeholders to support and deliver communications strategies for leaders, people managers and employees. Key activities/programmes you'd be supporting include:
    • Modern Employer (Be You. Feel Good. Keep Growing)
    • GSK Survey
    • Other feedback/development tools (One80, 360 and HPT)
    • Learning (and its alignment with the Modern Employer agenda)
    • Performance system
    • HR to HR engagement
  • In line with the global internal engagement and HR communications strategies, ensure that plans, interventions and messages are aligned and create a simple, joined-up story for our audiences
  • Work with sponsors to define key messages with a strong focus on the connection to the bigger picture, tone and simplicity
  • Mobilise cross-workstream communications coordination and alignment
  • Partner with communications teams across CGA to develop consistent, joined-up plans and content, including:
    • GSF and Business communications teams
    • Executive Communications
    • Making It Easier
    • Global Digital Communications
  • Create and deliver communications to the right people at the right time in the right way
  • Champion Workplace and act as the primary 'gatekeeper' for the Team HR group
  • Represent the team at key CGA editorial boards and coordinate content for the regular Your GSK News newsletter
  • Manage online content across multiple internal channels and webpages (Our Company, Global HR, Team HR)
  • Work with the team to deliver key events (e.g. modern employer/HR broadcasts, Workplace live events)
  • Support team members' critical activities where required

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Internal communications experience for a global business.
  • Experience using a broad range of internal communications channels, including intranet, video, webcasts, social media and other communications technology to inform and engage employees
  • Knowledge of Workplace, SharePoint and strong writing skills essential
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and matrixes, and in cross-company collaborations
  • Experience in providing sound internal communications counsel
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking
