Occupational Health Nurse Specialist, Open to flexibility

In this role, you will help to deliver a high quality, evidence based, customer focused Occupational Health (OH) services across the designated GSK sites/region thereby, meeting business needs in all aspects of our OH service provision.

You will work closely with the OH Leadership Team to achieve strategic and operational objectives for the UK OH Employee and Wellbeing function.
You will also be able to apply specialist knowledge and support the service in our delivery of many of our core services such as:

  • Case Management,
  • Business Travel Health,
  • Health Surveillance and
  • Health Capability Assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with other members of the UK Occupational Health Service team, the wider Health & Wellbeing team and other key stakeholders (Health Centre of Excellence, EHS & HR) to deliver strategy and enhance performance of the function through innovation, performance & trust.
  • Implementing and supporting projects that support the wider Health & Wellbeing/ EHS strategy within the UK. Be accountable and supportive of team working and demonstrate a collaborative approach to Health & Wellbeing/EHS projects.
  • Act as a consultant to the Business for Health and Wellbeing issues.
  • Support site EHS-OH audits to comply with requirements of Internal Control Framework. Review outcomes and action any agreed CAPAs.
  • Seek and respond to customer feedback, investigate complaints and contribute to the improvement of processes and service delivery in response to customer feedback.
  • Generate clinical and performance metrics, demonstrating value of the function to the Business. Data analysis of health trends to identify and monitor work place hazards and improve employee performance and wellbeing.
  • Leading and providing an effective case management service for managers and staff. Ownership and management of a clinical case load providing clear decisions and opinions regarding case outcomes (including decisions regarding occupational illnesses and injuries, the appropriateness and applicability of Long-Term Disability and Ill-Health Retirement)
  • Solution focused approach to assessing and understanding the needs of customers.

Why You?

Basic qualifications:

  • NMC registered nurse
  • Extensive experience of delivering core OH services and managing own case load
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of independent decision making
  • Ability to provide high-level of expertise when advising managers/key stakeholders
  • Auditing clinical performance and service delivery

Preferred qualifications:

  • BSc degree in Occupational Health, Safety Management or related health studies
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good IT skills
  • Previous management experience
