Job Description Summary:

At Grant Thornton we're driven by a purpose of shaping a vibrant economy, based on trust and integrity in markets, dynamic businesses, and communities where businesses and people thrive. By living our purpose and focusing on quality, we strive to be the go-to-firm for growth. We’ve created our own unique culture – one that offers the opportunities of a major organisation in a personal, close-knit environment and that's built around a Challenger Leadership style and a Shared Enterprise model.

The South Restructuring department is a well-established team that operates out of Cardiff, Bristol, Reading and Southampton on a range of assignments. As a manager, you will be responsible for a range of tasks from identifying and interpreting insolvency procedures to proactively manage a portfolio of case work. You will also take responsibility for compliance, budgets and billing, providing a timely and profitable service in accordance with the highest professional standards and contributing to the continued growth and development of the department.

Job Description:

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing client engagements from commencement to completion. Making quick, clear and unequivocal recommendations to partners about client issues and can generate a range of options and choices and narrow these down appropriately

  • Undertaking detailed analysis of integrated financial forecasts including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow
  • Managing the delivery of statutory assignments
  • Taking responsibility for the development of the people in your assignment team

Who we're looking for:

  • You'll have a genuine interest in our clients. We want to provide a distinctive service and unlock the potential for growth in dynamic organisations

  • You'll seize opportunities. We want to adapt quickly and wisely to changing conditions to optimise growth for both our clients and ourselves
  • You'll apply critical reasoning to bring clarity and insight. We do it by asking great questions, listening and drawing on our collective knowledge and experience to really help others grow

Education, experience and qualifications:

  • ACA, ACCA or similar qualification
  • Experience in dealing with senior stakeholders
  • Experience in writing IBRs, short-terms cash flow reviews or pre-lend reports
  • Experience in trade-on Administrations and familiar with insolvency appointments

  • Ability to draft reports/report sections with minimal supervision
  • Evidence of development of junior team members including identification of development needs and skills gap in the team. Experience in delivery of training and upskilling of teams

You must also share our CLEARR values – Collaboration, Leadership, Excellence, Agility, Respect and Responsibility.

We’re looking for people who have a strong connection with and share our core beliefs:

  • Profit with a purpose that leads to a sustainable business
  • We create sustainable value for our clients
  • We are better together
  • Our CLEARR values underpin all we do
  • We never compromise on quality

Valuing you

Your personal development plan will help you grow your skills. And you’ll be able to shape your career within your team or by moving across our business or going on secondments in the UK and across our global network of member firms. You’ll also enjoy a competitive salary and a flexible benefits package designed to meet your individual needs.

Becoming a shared enterprise

Our unique culture is built around collaboration. Everybody here plays their part. Over the past few years we’ve been making big changes – moving towards becoming a shared enterprise. We share ideas. We share responsibility. We share the rewards. Put simply, we’re better together.

The time you spend outside of work helps shape what you can bring to our firm. We value the commitments you may have outside of work and will consider all flexible working applications.
