Senior Philanthropy Manager (Part Time)
Competitive salary / freelance contract, commensurate with experience
Equality of education and social opportunity is at the heart of our client’s organisation. More than half of the schools it supports are in areas of high deprivation. Pupils of all ages are embracing the enriching experience of learning about the ancient world and its languages. Classics is taking hold in state schools at unprecedented levels, and you can make a huge difference by raising funds from major and high value donors to support the demand for the organisation’s work.
Our client is seeking an outstanding fundraiser for the position of Senior Philanthropy Manager. The post-holder will lead the charge to develop and grow the portfolio of donors giving from £1,000-£100,000+ (currently 60+ with a strong pipeline in place).
This is an exciting time to be joining the charity. It has supported 800 schools to teach Classics, reaching 50,000 pupils, and aims to reach 1,000 schools within the next two years. Demand from schools to offer Classical subjects has increased fivefold since the charity began in 2010, which makes a compelling story for fundraising.
The Senior Philanthropy Manager will lead on all major donor activity from individual donors and family charitable trusts and will have a small annual target for corporate fundraising. Responsibilities will include carrying out all business development activity including stewardship, research, cultivation and solicitation. The Senior Philanthropy Manager will work as part of a fundraising team comprising the Executive Director and a part time Trust and Foundation fundraiser.
This role will require someone with exceptional interpersonal skills, extensive experience of major donor fundraising and an interest and empathy for the work we are doing in state schools.
This is a unique chance to join a young and fast-growing charity and an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional fundraiser to make their mark on the charity’s run-up to its 10th anniversary in 2020.
Location: Covent Garden/Temple.
Hours: We’ll consider from 21-35 hours pw and are ‘Happy to Talk Flexible Working’.
