Building on RNIB’s 150-year anniversary, this is an exciting time to help provide critical funding to enable and facilitate people with sight loss to transform their own personal experience, their community and ultimately, society as a whole.

With a new brand launch and strategic plan, RNIB has a great platform to promote its vision, maximise all opportunities and lay the foundations for a step change in its future income.

The philanthropy team is an important section of RNIB, focused on securing funding from high net worth individuals to support our programmes and broaden the charity’s reach and profile. The supporter base includes leaders in business, highly-respected philanthropists and a number of prestigious, active senior volunteers who act as ambassadors and assist in securing funding or hosting events.

The Major Gifts Fundraiser will be a key relationship contact within the philanthropy team, working directly with influential, high profile individuals to determine their personal interests and motivations, put forward inspiring projects, and secure essential funding.

To succeed in this role, you will have significant and demonstrable experience of soliciting six figure gifts from a range of high net-worth individuals. This will be underpinned by a proven track record of prospecting and introducing new individuals and networks to an organisation.  On a day-to-day basis, your exemplary customer focus will help build effective long-term relationships whilst your experience of creative, innovative stewardship techniques will help increase further support from existing donors.

In exchange we offer a competitive salary, a stimulating and supportive working environment and a benefits package including:

  • 26 days holiday per year (plus bank holidays), which increase with service.
  • Excellent pension schemes
