Hackney is London's most diverse, dynamic borough. Reaching from the Square Mile to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, this is an area of rapid economic growth, particularly in technology, media, fashion and other creative industries. Hackney has more green spaces than any other inner London borough; some of the capital's finest schools; first class transport connections; excellent public services; and thriving arts, cultural and retail sectors. We seek people with ambition, creativity and commitment to ensure our economic growth provides benefits for everyone and creates opportunities to transform the lives of residents.

As a Rough Sleeper Coordinator, you will have wide ranging experience of working with single homeless people from different backgrounds, with differing levels of support needs and an understanding of the resettlement pathways that need to be in place to reduce rough sleeping.

You will be able to co-ordinate, manage and improve the boroughs offer to assist those that are rough sleeping into settled accommodation pathways. You will be used to sourcing funding and identifying opportunities to trial new approaches and projects.

You will be motivated by the desire to make a real impact on the quality of life for individuals and communities and will be able to work on your own initiative as efficiently as possible across many different locations.

You will also be able to communicate and negotiate at many different levels as the integral role in bringing our partners even closer together to work towards a common goal of ending rough sleeping.

In return, we’ll offer excellent development opportunities, plus a range of benefits that includes a career average pension scheme, flexible working and the opportunity to make a real difference to our local community.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Signposting to other support services where an individual with problematic drug and/or alcohol use does not engage with the service or whose support needs are not limited to drug and alcohol use.
  • Promoting and linking up the full range of support available for rough sleepers.
