This is a permanent post.

Do you want to improve how London grows? Do you have a keen interest in the capital’s infrastructure and a desire to improve how it gets built and managed?

Do you want to work with an innovative team that’s challenging the status quo?

Do you have strong policy development and project management skills, and an ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders?

If so, the GLA’s Growth & Infrastructure Team wants to hear from you.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, recognises that in the face of London’s rapid growth, coordination of infrastructure is of vital importance. Given this, he has approved the establishment of a new team at City Hall to expand his efforts to support coordination of infrastructure planning and delivery throughout the Capital.

This role provides you with a chance to work on a wide range of existing and new projects, supporting the development and implementation of the Mayor’s growth and infrastructure agenda, and stakeholder engagement programme.

The team you will join is small and high-performing, benefiting from strong working relationships across industry. As such you will be exposed to a diverse work programme that will support your career development and have the chance to work with people at a range of levels. Some key outputs of the team in recent years have included developing London’s first infrastructure plan and leading on the innovative London Infrastructure Mapping Application.

To meet the requirements of the role you will have strong research, problem solving and analytical skills, an ability to communicate effectively, and be comfortable working with a diverse range of people.  You also need to be well organised and have experience managing projects.

We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds. You may have studied or have work experience in areas such as economics, town planning, environmental management, or other policy related areas. The key in your application is to demonstrate how your experience and skills are relevant to the position. We are particularly keen to hear from recent graduates who can demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop their career.

At the GLA we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days annual leave pro rata, interest free season ticket and bicycle loan, pension and incremental salary scheme.

London's diversity is its biggest asset and we strive to ensure our workforce reflects London's diversity at all levels. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability.

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We would welcome applications from candidates who are seeking part time work as this role is open to job share.

Application closing date: Tuesday 26 March 2019 at 23:59 GMT

Interviews will take place at: To be confirmed at City Hall
