Part time Group Finance Assistant - Central London

Our client in the financial services sector is seeking a Finance Assistant to join the small team 2-3 days a week based in London City.
The Finance Assistant will support the Group Financial Accountant in maintaining an efficient and accurate accounting and treasury function for the group entities.
The role will cover corporate accounting activities including ensuring supplier invoices, expenses and requests for payment are processed efficiently and accurately; assisting in the preparation of statutory financial accounts and ensuring ledgers are maintained including the sales and purchase ledgers. The role will take responsibility for the preparation of weekly BACS payment runs, completing monthly bank reconciliations and posting intra-bank transactions promptly and accurately. The role will also assist with the preparation of management accounts and other ad hoc duties as required to ensure a smooth running finance department.
Candidates will have broad finance skills and experience and ideally a balance of small and large business experience. He/she will have advanced IT skills including excellent MS Word and Excel skills. Ideally, he/she will have experience of improving processes, controls and systems and the ability to cope with competing demands thus able to prioritise tasks. Candidates will have demonstrable interpersonal skills, strong organisational and administration skills, excellent attention to detail and an aptitude for figures. Must be able to work well under own initiative and have a high degree of personal drive and ambition.
