Senior Project Officer- Healthy Schools, Open to flexible working
This role is an opportunity to build on the success of the Mayor of London’s innovative Healthy Schools London programme and to play a central role in its ongoing development and delivery.
Healthy Schools London is a flagship programme in the Mayor’s Health Inequalities Strategy and delivers on the ambition for schools nurture the health and wellbeing of children and families and for programmes reach the most vulnerable.
Healthy Schools London supports London’s schools to provide an environment and culture that helps their pupils grow up to be healthy, happy and learn. With an award scheme sponsored by the Mayor of London, the programme recognises and celebrates schools that are making a difference for their pupils.
There are currently over 2000 schools registered with the programme, with nearly 250 achieving gold award status. There are 3 levels of Awards: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Schools work to support pupil wellbeing across 4 themes:
- Healthy Eating
- Physical Activity
- Emotional Health & Wellbeing
- Personal, Social, Health Education (PSHE)
The post holder will support Healthy Schools London to ensure delivery of project and programme aims and compliance with grant/contract conditions; identify and manage risks; provide training and development to borough Healthy Schools leads; organise events; report on progress; and contribute to the development of new projects.
We’re looking for someone with insight and knowledge of the Healthy Schools London programme; knowledge of children and young people policy in London; stakeholder management skills to nurture partnerships; and the commitment to work collaboratively with Londoners and London’s diverse communities to improve wellbeing for all.
