Lloyds Banking Group & Group Transformation:

LBG is the UK's leading digital bank, with over 30 million UK customers across our three main brands, as well as the UK's biggest mobile bank.

Our culture in Group Transformation brings together smart, talented, driven people from diverse backgrounds; people are at the core of who we are. Your opportunity to connect with your team, provide innovative solutions and support the creation of an environment where all can thrive is critical to your success.

Who are the Business Design & Roadmap Team plus what will I do?

The Business Design & Roadmap team works closely with the five value streams that make up Commercial & Business Banking Transformation, to facilitate the definition of the future target end state for customer journeys and the capability build that is required to transform them. In this particular role you will be part of a small team focussed on needs and design issues that span more than one value stream, either within Commercial and Business Banking Transformation or across the Group. You will work with cross-functional teams to drive towards end-to-end designs that are consistent with the Group's transformation strategy, leveraging enterprise capabilities and Bank of the Future enablers to deliver timely customer and business outcomes. You will help define the future state of the customer journey; lead shaping activity, and be responsible for translating the vision into an actionable roadmap and delivery plan, making clear the choices and implications of choices for customer journey KPIs and for value streams' target outcomes and key results.

Your remit will include:

  • working with business stakeholders to quickly resolve design issues and support/drive escalations where required to enable rapid delivery;
  • managing and leading the definition of target end states and delivery roadmaps;
  • challenging colleagues to drive for an innovative solution; "think out of the box" and ensuring best in class solution designs;
  • researching and developing key points of view and making recommendations on how to develop our propositional, business, and technology capabilities;
  • generating and sustaining strong business support by working with Executive members to help forge common understanding of the commercial decisions/impacts and the customer propositions proposed;
  • Conducting analyses required to problem solve with the team on specific delivery, design, and strategic issues.

You will also act as an advocate of new ways of working and coach lab members and will assist with training people, managing performance and driving career development opportunities for lab colleagues.

What do I need to do the job?

The successful candidate will combine logical, well-structured thought processes and the ability to apply a variety of relevant insights to shape transformational change, with the drive to make a difference and convert design thinking into results. You will be familiar with innovation trends in banking and digital and should have had exposure to a range of design-related disciplines, which could include business analysis, business architecture, systems thinking and service design; most likely gained either through a large-scale digital transformation in a corporate environment or a top-tier consultancy firm. You will be comfortable engaging with technology design considerations and exploring the relationship between technology and business outcomes. Preferably, you will also be able to demonstrate subject matter expertise in the Commercial and Business Banking marketplace and its products.

It's not just the understanding of digital transformation you'll possess but also the passion - you'll need to be a digital evangelist, offering advice and counsel across the portfolio of brands within Lloyds Banking Group.
