WE CURRENTLY HAVE A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY FOR AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER TO JOIN THE TEAM AT DIAGEO LEVEN ON A WEEKEND- SHIFT ROTATION.

Please note that this role is offered on a 34.5 hour contract.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Diageo Leven consists of 24 bottling lines over three bottling halls plus a luxury product area. We produce over 35 million cases per annum by operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We export both white and brown spirits to 240 markets worldwide. The Electrical Engineer will play a major role in supporting the site as a member of our engineering team. They will work closely with line teams and they will be supported by both the electrical and the mechanical colleagues to support and improve line availability, performance as well and supporting asset performance and maintenance programmes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will ensure weekend (and Friday) day-to-day running of all services and equipment whilst clearly communicating process and plant status to the other team members and shifts. You will also respond promptly and appropriately to plant emergency and breakdown situations.Equally, you will Maintain and repair plant to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiencies and ensure compliance with all H S and revenue and customs legislation including risk-assessing changes to the plant and process. Throughout all proceses, you will help identify and implement process improvement initiatives. Within this you will provide development of effective working practices to get the best out of people whilst being cost effective.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE/HAVE;

  • A time-served electrician, ideally with an HNC qualification.
  • Being qualified in fault finding and programming of Siemens S5 and S7 Plc's would be a massive bonus.
  • Some experience of working in an FMCG environment- preferably a bottling or high speed manufacturing environment. It would be ideal if this could include automated machinery including associated drives, sensors and safety equipment.
  • A proactive approach to identifying opportunities to make improvements and spotting errors.
  • Real interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate this to a range of stakeholders.
