HelpAge International is recruiting a Knowledge Platform Officer, to be based in London. It will be on a part-time basis, working 2.5 days per week, initially for 12 months.

The organisation

HelpAge International is secretariat to a global network of organisations promoting the right of all older people to lead dignified, healthy and secure lives. Our mission is to promote the wellbeing and inclusion of older women and men, and to reduce poverty and discrimination in later life. 

Key responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to develop and implement the HelpAge Global Network Knowledge Platform, which is being developed and built in MS Office 365 SharePoint. The role will focus on information architecture and content management, setting standards and building expertise among network members and staff worldwide. The holder will have responsibility for managing the Knowledge Platform, carrying out regular content audits and user testing, and making necessary improvements, as well as reporting to and coordinating the agenda of the Project Board that is overseeing KP development.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience

Ideal candidates will have excellent skills in information and knowledge management, digital publishing and content optimisation, preferably in Office 365 SharePoint. They should have proven ability to build and manage international online communities and networks, and of sharing knowledge and resources in an academic and/or NGO or other non-profit organisation.

Candidates should have excellent analytical, team working and problem-solving skills, experience and skills in project management including scheduling, budgeting and remote working, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines. Equally important is the ability to enthuse network members and colleagues to use Knowledge Platform to foster creativity and learning, and thereby strengthen the quality and impact of our work in transforming the lives of older women and men.
