Global Procurement supports the ambitions of GSK by leading procurement initiatives on behalf of all GSK business units and operations, enabling the delivery of our products through the entire procurement to pay cycle to the end customer - our patients and consumers.

The Facilities Procurement team works with the various FM operations teams across the company (WREF, PSC, Cx, Vx) to develop and implement strategies designed to deliver the right suppliers and achieve an appropriate balance of service quality and service for the sub-categories in scope of Facilities and Real Estate across our network of over 550 sites (offices, R&D, manufacturing).

Expectations for the Director, Facilities and Real Estate include the following:
•Perform a comprehensive evaluation of the current FM suppliers and Real Estate network, identifying areas of potential opportunity
•Develop multi-year global sourcing strategies covering all business units and asset classes
•Collaborate with the FM operations teams to execute the strategy
•Identify sustainable, long term savings opportunities annually, contributing to the organization's overall commitments
•Keep abreast of market trends and commodity drivers; ensure key business partners are apprised
•Assume accountability for over £800m in spend
•Build a high performing team comprised of existing colleagues and targeted external hires
•Drive for procurement excellence, establish strong reputation strategy and execution

Key Responsibilities

•Critical evaluation of the existing FM strategies, identifying areas of potential opportunity
•Development and execution of comprehensive global sourcing strategies
•Partner with FM operations teams and sit on LT's as required, becoming a trusted and valued colleague
•Demonstrate thought leadership by identifying opportunities for improvement, and gaining support for initiatives designed to unlock value for GSK
•Significantly contribute to overall organizational goals by meeting or exceeding annual cost reduction and avoidance goals
•Represent the category on relevant strategy development and planning forums
•Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring business alignment on critical objectives
•Sit on the Global Procurement Extended Leadership Team
•Keep abreast of market trends and commodity drivers; leverage same to effect strategies and develop annual cost reduction commitments
•Build a high performing team comprised of existing colleagues and targeted external hires; initiate multi-year talent development plan, including succession


Why You?Basic qualifications:
•Previous experience leading a procurement function or category
•Subject matter expertise in procurement of Facilities and Real Estate services
•Experience in negotiation of global, complex £100m+ FM contracts
•Highly developed business acumen with demonstrated success in delivering a multi-year strategy ensuring competitive commercial advantage
•Demonstrated ability to forge close business relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all management levels
•Skilled negotiator adept at leading complex negotiations with both external and internal stakeholders
•Expertise in logistics processes and associated regulatory requirements
•Good understanding of market drivers effecting category; strong commitment to keeping abreast of trends

Finely honed project and change management skills;

•Clear understanding business value, business priorities, and potential implementation risks
•Experience managing the delivery of large projects and with end-to-end service / operations management
•Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills

Preferred qualifications:
•Master's Degree or MBA
•In depth understanding of latest tools for executing sourcing strategies (Jaggaer, Ariba, etc.)
