Lasting three years, this global development programme has been created to attract high-potential individuals and fast track their careers. How does the Esprit Leadership Development Programme work?
You will spend three years on a fast track rotational development programme, aimed at accelerating your AI/ML career. Beginning in the UK or US, you will have three challenging rotations, which could include a year's international experience. These rotations will provide you with in-depth knowledge of GSK's computational environment, in addition to connecting you to broader R&D through rotation into the business. Pharma experience is not required.

As a Director, Machine Learning we'd like you to be able to:
- Provide first class technical and strategic input to machine learning projects; leading thinking and strategic planning for design, implementation and direction.
- Make major contributions to the development of machine learning initiatives and other long-term business strategies with a broad remit (across R&D or industry wide) with stakeholder agreement. Effectively connect, communicate, engage and influence at the above-project/department level or more broadly across R&D.
- Proactively support the development of other machine learning engineer's knowledge and skills, share best practice, and provide timely and honest feedback and guidance to help others reach their goals.
- Effectively lead a cross department team or initiative to apply the latest advancements in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to build, test, validate, and share predictive models.
- A higher degree in Machine Learning, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Computational Science or related quantitative field.
- Expert understanding of at least one Deep Learning framework such as TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team to both teach and learn every day.
- Published as an author on a paper that derives insights from Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning methods in a peer reviewed journal.
