Opening Doors London is the largest provider of information and support services with and for older Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans + people in the United Kingdom. We aim to ensure that older LGBT+ people live happier, healthier and independent lives free from prejudice and discrimination. Everything we do is informed by the lived experience of LGBT+ older people.
We are looking for an experienced Volunteer Co-ordinator in our Ambassador Development Officer role to support and develop our team of volunteer Ambassadors. Your role will be to ensure LGBT+ diversity of recruitment and to provide training, co-ordination and support to the volunteer Ambassadors. You will be responsible for identifying a range of speaking opportunities for Ambassador involvement in sharing the key messages of Opening Doors London.
You will have…
- An up to date understanding of diversity and inclusion as evidenced by the Equality Act
- An understanding of the diversity and needs of LGBT+ people over 50 including underrepresented, isolated or ‘invisible’ communities.
- The ability to support, motivate and develop volunteer Ambassadors in promoting the key messages of Opening Doors London.
