Lead Deloitte to Data Mastery

Demands for sound data quality and knowledge management are growing for the Firm and across the EMEA region. As Configuration Manager your role will be to own the ITIL process of Service Asset and Configuration Management primarily for UK, Switzerland and Gibraltar, and help shape this regionally and globally. You will be responsible for successfully managing a team to establish processes and procedures, build out the CMDB data model and support the Firm in building a first class Configuration Management System.

Your role

The role primarily supports the UK, Swiss and Gibraltar geographies, however with a broader North South Europe (NSE) and strategic remit in particular for the development of Configuration Management strategy across EMEA and working with Global Deloitte Configuration Management teams.

From a day-to-day UK/Switzerland/Gibraltar perspective, the key responsibilities revolve around ensuring that all Service Management-related disciplines are supported via high quality CMDB data, including working with Service and Application owners to ensure that they are meeting their responsibilities for maintenance of CMDB data, and ensuring compliance with the Global Target Operating Model (GTOM).

The role requires a high level of attention to detail, understanding and ability to deliver ITIL best practice and excellent negotiation and coordination skills. The candidate will be expected to work regularly with technical and non-technical staff at all levels of seniority, as well as lead and influence the successful development of the configuration management process globally:

  • Maintain and ensure adherence to the high level of accuracy and validity of information within the CMS and information provided to stakeholders
  • Maintain compliance to the Deloitte global Deloitte configuration management policies and requirements
  • Ensure accurate definition of services with the relevant stakeholders across all relevant ITS teams and business lines
  • Own and develop the ITIL-aligned Configuration Management process across the region and be a Global strategy influencer
  • Develop and improve the current CMDB data model and its core datasources
  • Provide configuration management governance and assurance for services coming into Production by working within the Service Transition process
  • Drive Continual Service Improvement (CSI) and toolset development, along with wider configuration management maturity
  • Support ongoing ITS projects to ensure all Configuration Management deliverables are successfully met
  • Support adhoc requests for CMDB data extracts

Your professional experience

  • An expert in the management and manipulation of complex datasets with strong expertise in one or more data languages
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and manage teams from different backgrounds and across geographical boundaries
  • Experience in establishing governance processes and procedures ensuring adherence to data quality standards
  • Extensive experience within IT organisations utilising ITIL
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively lead, communicate with and manage teams
  • Effective time management with an ability to manage and prioritise workloads
  • Commitment to quality of deliverables and awareness of their individual impact to the business
  • Ability to understand new technologies and adopt best practice to the ITIL configuration management process
  • Enthusiastic and pragmatic attitude
