The Brand Marketing and Communications (BMC) function has an important role to play in helping to achieve EY’s Vision 2020 ambition to become the leading global professional services organization. We work hand in hand with the business to take services and solutions to market; bring our purpose – Building a better working world – to life for our people, clients and communities; engage our people and build a high performing culture; and to build the commercial value and emotional resonance of the EY brand.

BMC is led globally by Karen Hopkins. The function is made up of around 2,000 professionals, working across the Executive and Regions in the following areas of specialism: Brand; Marketing; PR/Media Relations & External Communications; Internal Communications & Employee Engagement; Corporate communications.

BMC also includes a number of teams who are responsible for content development, editorial, webcasts, events-staging, strategy, planning and operations. Through the collective power of BMC, and the other teams and specialists we work with, we aim to build a better working world by driving commercial value through distinctive marketing and communications that deliver measurable market impact.

Your key responsibilities

There are in excess of 11,000 People Advisory Services professionals across the world: uniting them will require a busy pair of hands to support regular touchpoints across a range of channels including the intranet, Yammer and internal news channels alongside our webcast and video platforms.

You will support the development of collateral, online experiences and social media for Global People Advisory Services communication initiatives, working closely with your peers across the firm to ensure that the people agenda is represented wherever possible. You will also be passionate about proving value, with a head for metrics and an interest in the systems needed to get them.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Attention to detail and a genuine commitment to maintaining the highest standards in content and deployment

  • An ability to prioritize and manage stakeholder expectations; balancing multiple priorities, projects and business-as-usual tasks

  • A team player with a flexible can-do attitude and good interpersonal skills

  • Strong writing skills

  • Strong transactional skills to efficiently manage quality review processes

  • An ability to track internal communications metrics across channels to determine effectiveness and make strategic recommendations

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Five years’ internal communications and project management experience in a large (ideally matrix) organization, working with multiple stakeholders in multiple geographies

  • Experience writing and editing marketing or communications collateral, including material for videos, websites and intranet, magazines and newsletters

  • Experience using content management systems

Ideally, you’ll also have 

  • Your own ideas about what makes a great internal communications campaign

  • Good business sense

  • A passion for the HR and People Advisory market
