Carers Development Manager - Adult Services, Open to flexible working
1 Year Fixed Term Contract / Secondment Opportunity
Hackney Council is looking for an individual who is passionate about ensuring unpaid adult carers receive the best support that enables them to continue caring, whilst looking after their own health and well-being. Working collaboratively with a range of partners including carers, this role will ensure carers services in Hackney are responsive to the needs of carers, operating effectively and are of high standard.
Delivering an excellent service for carers in a key priority for Adult Services, and the current service has undergone a substantial redesign process. The new service is starting on the 1st October 2019, therefore this role is joining at an exciting and critical time. The post holder will have significant influence on shaping and embedding this new service, to ensure the service vision is realised:
“To work in partnership with carers to empower and support them to make informed choices that enable them to care, stay healthy, and to lead fulfilled lives.”
You will have excellent relationship building and communication skills, and the ability to motivate and influence stakeholders including senior management. The ability to problem-solve, think strategically, and implement system-wide change is key.
We are looking for someone with a degree-level health and social care professional qualification or equivalent and with sound knowledge of; the Care Act (2014), local and national carer strategies, and project management and commissioning methodologies. You will have experience of service development in the public sector including embedding co-production in services, working with carers at either a strategic or operational level, and partnership working with a wide range of stakeholders.
