Maths Instructor, Part-time
Are you passionate about helping students from disadvantaged backgrounds improve their maths attainment? Would you like to work with a dynamic organisation with a proven track record in maths intervention?
MathsMakers, a finalist for the 2018 Teach First Innovation Award, and a charity accredited with the NRCSE Quality Mark, partners with schools to run innovative maths intervention programmes. We combine classroom instruction and support from Year 12 mentors to help students strengthen their core maths skills, boost their problem-solving skills and develop confidence in their learning. We work with students in years 7-11 who attend our weekly sessions after-school.
MathsMakers is looking to appoint instructors for our programmes in secondary schools in Harrow and Brent, each of which will run for 15 weeks, October 2019 - March 2010. The instructor position, which is available on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, is on a freelance basis. MathsMakers offers £75-81 per week. This covers 3 hours: 1.25 hours contact time and 1.75 hours preparation/follow-up. Applicants may be considered for more than one programme position.
Please be advised that as the position involves contact with children, a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be required as a condition of any offer.
Attached, please find Job Description, Person Specification and Application Form. If interested in applying, please email a completed Application Form via the application method below.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Thursday October 3, 2019.
