Job Profile Summary

The Lead Project Manager - M&A will support the acquisition process including leading end to end activity relating to integration of acquired businesses. They will at times be required to manage multiple concurrent projects, applying appropriate and recognised project management techniques.

  • Programme/Project Set Up and Closure: Feeds into business study/programme proposals and business cases, ensuring alignment with business strategy; agreement of project benefits; and how these will be measured and tracked post implementation.
  • Works with the business to define and agree programme/project benefits and to confirm that outputs and outcomes will support their realisation.
  • Demonstrates personal resilience and tenacity in ensuring that high results are consistently achieved.
  • Risks: Anticipates, identifies communicates and mitigates risks and issues in a timely manner, applying appropriate risk management techniques.
  • Governance and Reporting: Works closely with the leadership to provide regular status reporting appropriately to different stakeholders and to agreed standards and recommend options for contingency plans.
  • Planning and Finance: Produces and owns the project plan. Proactively controls, manages and monitors project timescales and budgets, reporting variances, escalating as appropriate to overcome delays, difficulties or cost over-runs, and re-forecasting where necessary.
  • Resource Management: Tracks resource requirements (including roles and responsibilities), budget and FTE profile for areas of responsibility.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engages with a diverse group of stakeholders to influence direction of programmes/projects to meet business goals. Typically up to and including Exec level.
  • Negotiates and gains consensus to reach agreement.
  • Has a scope of influence external to own area.
  • Maximises internal and external network.
  • People and Self Development: Leads, motivates, develops and coaches team members to create a high performing team
